WHAT IS UCEED?

UCEED stands for the “Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design.” It is an entrance exam conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay for admission to Bachelor of Design (B.Des) programs at various IITs and other participating design institutes in India.

UCEED assesses a candidate’s aptitude for design involving visual perception ability, drawing skills, logical reasoning, creativity, communication, and problem-solving skills. It is an essential examination for students who aspire to pursue undergraduate design courses in fields such as industrial design, communication design, and interaction design.

Candidates who qualify in UCEED can apply for admission to B.Des programs at IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and other participating institutions. It is important to note that UCEED is distinct from the National Institute of Design (NID) entrance exam, which is conducted for admission to design programs at NID campuses.

UCEED 2024

UCEED 2024 will be organized by the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, with the guidance of the UCEED-CEED Implementation Committee 2024, also known as the UCI Committee. UCEED 2024 is open to candidates of all nationalities, both Indian and foreign. Those interested in gaining admission to the Bachelor’s Degree program in Design (BDes) at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB), Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD), Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG), Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH), and Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing Jabalpur (IIITDMJ) must participate in UCEED 2024.

Applicants must understand that simply participating in UCEED 2024 or securing a place on the rank list does not assure or automatically grant admission to the BDes programs offered by the participating institutions.
